📖About Animals
Animals (2026) is a taut thriller that turns a political campaign into a pressure cooker. When the son of an L.A. mayoral candidate is kidnapped, the candidate and his wife are handed a deadline measured in hours, not days. The ransom has to be paid fast, but most of the family's money has already been poured into the campaign, leaving them with almost nothing liquid and very little time to improvise.
What follows is less about chasing a kidnapper and more about what two people will do when the cost of saving their child collides with the image they have spent years building. To raise the ransom, they have to get their hands dirty and expose a side of their lives they never intended to see the light of day. That tension between public reputation and private desperation is where Animals earns its title, and it is what pushes the film past a simple ransom-demand premise into a sharper political drama.
Blending kidnapping-thriller mechanics with character-driven drama, Animals is aimed at viewers who like their suspense grounded in moral compromise rather than car chases. If you enjoy political thrillers where the clock is the real antagonist and every decision costs someone something, this one fits neatly into a single sitting.
